Your back and neck are a complicated structure made of bones, muscles, and other tissues extending from your head to your pelvis. Back and neck injuries can result from repetitive motions or strains at work or from a sudden jolt such as a car accident. Back injuries include strains, sprains, herniated disks and fractured vertebrae. These injuries can cause pain and limit your movement, and their onset may be gradual or sudden. Treatments may include medicines, icing, bed rest, physical therapy or surgery.
